I think the sizes need to get more standard and aligned with the international sizing standards. I’m quite amazed as I fit into small for brands like Sara and H&M, and here your medium also feels tight from the shoulders Exactly, same was also case with the pencil skirt that I asked for which on upper waist is tight because there is an inner fold inside, which is reducing the circumference of the skirt waist
